On the 26-th and 27-th March 2011, RROMA hosted the Comic drawing workshop for the "AIDS doesn't know about discrimination ... Protect yourself!" project. It was a small group of youngsters that were coming from Kratovo, Veles and Berovo that took part in it. In two days, this group of five manage to create five stories based on the theme of the project. All stories will be published by RROMA in a comic format.
The youth did not only finish their work, but they also manage to attract attention as a big group of children came to visit the site. RROMA hopes that next year another Comic drawing workshop will be organized and more youngsters will participate.
What we have learnt from this workshop is that you need more days to prepare the participants, since all of them needs to come out with an unique story. What RROMA did, was telling the participants before coming to Kratovo to have a story in mind, but of course when they arrived in Kratovo an additional brainstorming was needed. All in all, it was a great experience for all, participants and trainer.
RROMA would like to thank the president of the Comic center of Macedonia, Vane Trajkov for being there and guiding the youngsters through the art or process of creating comics. Also, many thanks to: Vanesa, Makfira, Selina, Urmeta and Monika for participating, as well to Daniela, Bilent, Bethany and Merlin for coordinating this event.
