Informative HIV/AIDS meeting in Radovis

On the 23-th of May in the High school “Kosta Susinov” in Radovis was held sixth informative meeting in the frame of our HIV/AIDS awareness campaign. Our facilitators, Anife Sakirova and Sendil Aliovski were greeted by the Psychologist of the school, who helped them in organizing the youth to attend the meeting. It was an interesting and interactive meeting, with a lot of shared information and condoms.

Prep meeting of RROMA for the "Staying Alive 2011" festival

On Saturday, the 4 -th of June 2011, the Regional Roma Educational Association from Kratovo organized a preparatory meeting for the big event "Staying Alive 2011" festival for the 11-th of June 2011.

At this meeting, the youth agreed on the street actions and the performances on the stage. One of the street actions was a flash mob, using the Tunak Tunak Tun song, another action was the "Frozen town", also the youth agreed to create a giant condom for info distribution. Another important step was to invite the artists of the Poster drawing contest to draw paintings in the streets.

RROMA agreed on the proposal of the youth to use the fashion design of their students that study fashion design and invite little children to wear them, since it was a kids collection. Also, the RROMA girls to wear different traditional clothing, showing the multiculture of Macedonia.

The youth worked also on a theater play and dance performance for the stage. Also, everyone agreed on the band and Dj's for the event.

Last HIV/AIDS informative meeting in Veles!

After having spread information in the High schools and having meetings with the Roma and non-Roma students in Kratovo, Probistip, Vinica, Kocani and Berovo, RROMA organized the last meeting of this kind in Veles.

The last meeting was held in the High School "Dimitrija Cupovski"-Veles. Vanesa Jordanova had the honor to be our last trained facilitator and close the regional HIV/AIDS awareness meetings. On this meeting, the youth had the chance to learn about proper condom usage, what HIV is and what AIDS means, also to hear and learn about the different STD's. RROMA will post the evaluation of these meetings and impressions from the participants very soon. Enjoy the photos of our last meeting. Fifth Informative meeting in Berovo

In frame of our HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, the fifth informative meeting was held in the High school "Aco Ruskovski" in Berovo. On this workshop, the Roma and non-Roma youth got the chance to get informed about HIV/AIDS and the STD's, but also to learn about proper condom usage. We must praise Ugur Destanovski, one of the facilitators, who manage to stay calm this time and not being surprised by the crowd. Just one more workshop to go. Fourth Informative meeting in Vinica

The fourth informative meeting conducted by our youth was held in Vinica on the 18-th of March 2011. It was quite a challenge for our youngsters, since they were expecting a group of around 30 High school students from the "Vanco Prke" Gymnasium. But, for our surprise and theirs also, more than 50 students showed up on our workshop. As expected, both our youngsters Ugur Destanovski and Daut Arifovski started to shake, since they never had such experience before ...

But, everything was great and they had a good time and experience with the youngsters. The participants had a chance to hear about and practice proper condom usage, what are STI's, AIDS and HIV, how can they protect them selves etc. Of course, our youth got help from Bilent Kundevski, the youth coordinator and for the first time from Mustafa Jakupov, the executive director of RROMA.

We are looking forward to our next workshop, that will be held in Berovo on the 15-th of April.

Third informative meeting in Kocani

The third informative meeting regarding HIV/AIDS prevention was held on the 23-rd of February 2011 in the facilities of the High School "Gjoso Vikentiev" in Kocani.

More than 60 youngster were presented on this meeting. Our Facilitators Vanesa and Tarkan had a pretty thought job to keep the attention of this big group, but everything went in best order. The participants a had a good time and learnt something new, as for example the proper use of condoms.

We would like to thank the two pedagogists from the High school in helping use organizing this workshop.
